くろさわ たくみ
黒澤 工 Takumi Kurosawa

Born: Jan, 16, 1961

1980 Joined Nissan Motor Yokohama, Japan.
Since then for the next 40 years I've been in charge of engine production from prototype to production.
Especially for GT-R engines from R32 to R35. (Including GT3 racing engine for R35).
It's not too much to say that I am the man who was born to work for the GT-R engines.

During the time I've been involved with wide range of activities such as teaching the attitude/thoughts towards the Monozukuri spirit not only in Japan but also in overseas countries.
Normally, I have a few more months to retire, my passion to build the best engine have pushed me to retire early.

Profile of Takumi,
Passion of Takumi

Although you might know we call the craftsman who builds

the R35 GT-R engine 'Takumi' let me introduce you to know my passion being a Takumi.

・For example, he improves the intake efficiency                        significantly by rigorously fine adjust the intake manifold          and cylinder head.

・The gap between the camshaft and the valve head is               precisely measured by the Takumi craftsmen by                       manually inserting a plate with a thickness of a few                   micron into the gap. Because Takumi  craftsman's                   fingertips have more precise sensors than any machine.

For an super-high performance car such as GT-R, an error of 0.1mm or less will makes a difference in performance.
That's why GT-R emphasizes not only advanced production technology such as robots but also the skill of a craftsman based on his long experience to pursue the absolute precision.

Even though he keeps making one engine at a time with such passion, Kurosawa feels "he can do more and better"
always pursuing making the best engine... always such an unexplainable thoughts he had. Hand-built,,,
What is the best engine that I can truly agree with.
I want to build the engine that convinces me.

As a result of trying to put that thought into practice, I decided to do the overhaul work of the GT-R engine myself.
Of course, even with the current assembly method, the engine is built stable with a little variation in performance.
But it is also true that there is a limit in mass production.

Kurosawa is committed to building a genuine engine that allows you to experience the original potential of genuine parts to the fullest extent.
